Thumping back pain

I have painful episodes which render me paralysed for minutes. It starts with a thumping back pain which pulses in time with my heart beat. Then it works up my back to shoulders and up my neck to my skull. It’s so painful I’m bent double in pain. Interestingly my brother gets it too. Any ideas?

Have these being going on for long? Have you ever had a scan of any sort to look for abdominal abnormalities?

Noticed them for about 1 1/2 years now. I’ve had a scan. Showed no abnormalities. Both GPS and Rheumy’s stumped. Same with brother. When it happens it’s excruciating.

How bizarre. I wondered about abdominal aneurysm. Or gall bladder problems.

Did read about that. It’s from middle of back up.
