Had tapered to 4 1/2 at Christmas. Pains returned. So upped dose of Pred to 5 1/2 made no difference so upped to 7. Can I just drop again to 5 1/2 in one go or should I tepee slowly

Hi, if it's less than a week or so then it's usually fine once symptoms controlled.

How long have you been at 7mg? I'm not sure you should drop straight back to 5.5mg as it sounds as if you had well overshot the dose you need.

I had gone down to 4 1/2. The Dr wanted me to go faster. All was not well and I went back to 5 then5 1/2. I then went up to 7 mg 6 days ago and feel much better. I now have a back problem, having MRI Wednesday. So some of the pain was that. Today I took 6 1/2 to see how things go. But think I will do gradually again. Thank you for replying

My advice would be to take it much more slowly - from here on, only drop by 1/2mg at a time, taking a mont each step.

Remember - you’re not in a race.......!
