Needy here again. My primary doc just ran some blood work yesterday while still on 50 mg prednisone. My esr went from 10 to 16 and crp from.9 to 2.6. It had been down to .10 and .9 last check after two days of pred. Down from 30 and6.4 before any pred. Is this a normal fluctuation. I thought pred always kept it down if on the same dose. Scary because rheum took me off yesterday after 13 days with no taper. Still having symptoms. Worry so about my eyes. Thanks for letting me rant here. My rheum never calls me just short messages

GCA and making sense of blood test results is out of my realm of acquired experience. I do know however that Prednisalone should not be stopped suddenly due to the danger of an Adrenal crisis. Please seek alternative medical advice.
You really do need to seek medical advice about your results and also coming off 50mg of pred in one step. Officially if a course of pred is for 3 weeks or less your adrenals should still be working but this is NOT a guarantee as we are all different and no one would promise this is the case. If you are not happy with your rheumy then you need to go back to you primary care medic and seek more advice. If you have any vision problems you should go to the ER imnediately.
Sorry if this isnt necessarily answering your question but we are not medically trained and use our own experience to help others on the forum but if someone needs more help than we feel happy giving our advice is to get qualified nedical help. No doubt others will have more answers in the norning when the uk wakes up. YBB
After only 13days it should be OK... I can't italacise the should or spell. I wouldn't like it and would prefer daily drops like they do for other conditions. You need you Dr's to keep an eye on you as you are still getting symptoms. Have tbey otber dx tbey are thinking about?
