Off the prednisone
2.5mg to zero in one drop? Might be a bit of a shock to the system.
I wish you well, but please monitor yourself carefully, particularly as you have flared in the past - and obviously if symptoms return act promptly.
Please keep us informed of how you get on.
I can only echo DL's comment - 2.5mg may be enough to replace poor adrenal function. If it isn't good you may experience adrenal function-related problems.
The slow reduction at the last 5mg is not only because of the PMR - it just makes you sore if it returns. And adrenal crisis could land you in hospital - or worse.
Good luck Roxyart!
My concern is that your Adrenal function may have needed a slower (0.5 mg drops) to support it. Especially if you get a virus or some other big stress on the system. I have been advised to increase to 10 mgs if I get an acute illness. Symptoms that indicate that your Adrenals are struggling include stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, diahorrea and extreme fatigue. I don’t want to rain on your parade but this is the main reason for a very gradual taper after 5 mgs. These judgements are on top for me at the moment. Just a heads up, GPs often don’t mention it. I hope you are just fine.
Good Luck
