Liver
Why would pred cause decreased liver function? The recommendation is that anyone who has liver problems may be better put onto prednisolone than prednisone as prednisone must be processed by the liver to make prednisolone which is the active substance and may not be reliable.
Yes I do but my GP and my Rheumatologist has never connected it to the Steroids and think it might be because I had Shingles recently.
Are you looking at the internet and worrying yourself to a frazzle? If so, give it up for a bit and talk to us instead. Or has your doctor expressed concerns about one of your blood tests? The liver is a resilient organ that can actually repair itself well, if I remember correctly. Most drugs and alcohol put an extra strain on the organ. Large doses of Pred are not great but they are temporary. Perhaps you should talk to your GP about your anxiety levels. Having experienced health anxiety myself, I think I recognise it in you. Apologies if I am mistaken.
After a couple of blood tests with not normal liver results my doctor ordered an ultrasound of my liver. Now he has said I have a fatty liver. He says they will just keep an eye on it.
