Has anyone had muscle twitching from prednisone.? Is it serious?

Good morning! I did indeed have some muscle twitching and other Sensations I can't quite explain. Truly, hopefully an encouraging thought for you... So many of these Sensations that are induced by prednisone will wane as the dosage changes in time. Hang in there that is we all walk with you.

Do you mean like a vibrating eyelid, because I get that.

No calf muscle twitching especially while trying and I mean trying to sleep

I wonder if Magnesium might help? It certainly helped my restless legs ( and arms). Mention to the doctor too.

I found that if I wasn’t taking my magnesium supplement regularly or eating foods high in potassium (I don’t supplement this as it’s easy to over do it), my muscles became twitchy or stiffer. Both of these are removed from the body more readily on Pred. As I’ve gone down in dose the effect has reduced too.

I only THINK, that because PMR causes the oxygen supply to your muscles this happens on and off in different places.

I had twitches from PMR - nothing to do with pred for me.

Yes, I have had shakes and muscle twitches from PMR and find that a magnesium supplement has helped.

Yes. My left thumb has developed a tremor. As my OH has Parkinson’s I was worried at first but I have realised that it is quite different to his tremor and in fact I can control it.
