Happy New Year,

Starting the New Year with 1 mg Prednisone. I am sitting here by my fireplace, counting my Blessings and asking God to guide me in the coming year. I am very happy to see 2019 as a year in history. It was my private year from hell”, was diagnosed with PMR in January and my beloved son died in March. I know it could have been worse, however, it could have been better. My PMR seems to be responding well. I got though the year with lots of help from family and friends and the advice received from this group, for which I am grateful....🌹. Wishing you all Good Health and God’s Blessings in 2020.

Gary, first of all my condolences on the loss of your son.

I suffered with pmr for 4 years before I was weaned off the prednisone last summer. Once off the dreaded medication, I still wasn’t certain that it was over or that it would return. Now that several months have past, I feel truly blessed that the pmr ordeal is over. I thought at times that I would be taking prednisone the rest of my life (I’m 75), but it’s finally over.

The only advise I can give is to hang in there. Put up with all of the silly side affects that prednisone brings. At least there is something that takes the aches and pains away and with the help of the Lord, you will come out at the other side, a new man.

All the best to you in the future,

Charlie

Thank you, I do consider it a blessing. I am not sure I won’t relapse but I hope not. I have readjusted my whole approach to life. I learned on this site that pacing is so important. Best of luck to all.....

Doing well. I still walk weird.....I decided today to cut taking everything but my 1 mg. Prednisone, Calcium and a multivitamin. I was on AA, Lipitor and a bunch of

vitamins. I had a bad knee for many years but that seems better, too. I am good.
