After 33 months I stopped Prednisolone in September. I had been experiencing mild twingeing in the base of my thumbs and both knees. This has got somewhat worse since. I am not sure whether this is arthritis or another manifestation of PMR. Both big toes have also niggled as well. Does PMR affect joints as well. I can walk OK and grip tightly.

Aching Knees And Thumbs
It sounds more like Osteoarthritis to me. I would have it checked out in the new year. My arthritis has certainly worsened. I am more sedentary and have gained weight though. More exercise and less food for me next year. Jinasc recommended Flexiseq cream to rub in. I really think it helps.
PMR does affect the synovium, the lining of the joints but most of the joint symptoms probably stem from the PMR affecting the soft tissues around the joints. Pain at the base of my wrists has always been part of my PMR, knees a bit originally but not now and toes not really. What you describe doesn't sound totally PMR-ish though - it could just be your body settling down to life without pred which can take a year or so. If they improve/stay the same I wouldn't worry too much - but if they get worse speak to the GP.
