Can someone please describe how to insert images into a post - especially a collage

On Sunday 22nd everyone may post greetings without making them expressly PMRGCA-related. As images can only be inserted into a post and not into replies that would mean a new thread for each image unless you can make them into collages which I know is possible. Can someone explain the procedure simply?

Yes please I have been wanting to know how some people manage to add clips and things in posts for ages.

If it goes smoothly and is easy to manage their could even be a lovely sharing day more often xx

We will see how this one goes!!

Clips are often done by adding a link which then appears as the video.

I know how to add an image - in theory at least, don't have any images on file to add ;) But a few friends do collages of multiple images - a very useful technique to avoid multiple threads on the same subject. I suspect you may have to download a collage app ...

I use the Pic collage grid and photo editor app. It’s very good and simple to use.

I think kellyintexas knows a bit about how to insert bits.

Well to make a collage someone would have to collate all the greetings pictures first and make a collage to put as a giant photo into the thread. I don’t know what software you have access to as mods/admins or even if it is possible to send photos to you separately.

Or am I overthinking it?

No - I mean each individual who has several images they would like to share. Not for us -above my pay grade ;)

Ah I was overthinking it, I see what you mean.

Way above my abilities as well. I have problems with links at times🤪

One friend who does superb collages on the Lupus forum says

"I downloaded an iPhone app called PicCollage - works well. You just select images from your photo library. I use the freestyle option but there are grids, backgrounds, cards etc to choose from."

If you google "making an online photo collage" you will get links to a range of collage makers. Then it is up to you which you choose to combine your own images into a collage.

You can use Google photos, it also gives options for Android phones and computers. You need a Google account though.

Funnily enough I downloaded the PicCollage App just a couple of weeks ago. It's really easy to use.

I have just been inspired to download the free PicCollage App tonight. It’s great fun and seems very easy-thank you

It is isn’t it! I can’t remember now who suggested it to me but it’s so easy and simple to use. I was sending a collage of pics to a relative in NZ.

Incidentally I’ve been wondering for ages about your profile pic. Are you from Glasgow?

Originally from Ayrshire, went to uni in Glasgow 40+ years ago, then Yorkshire, now the Midlands. Was in Glesca a couple of weeks ago and had a walk past “The Duke” as always. Happy days in Scotland-no relatives left there but still some very good friends x

So once it's in the computer how do you actually get the pictures in? All I get is my list of pictures so I have no idea what they are, not thumbnail images.

Ah! I don’t know. Sorry.

I’ve been using an iPad and it couldn’t be easier on it. I’ve not tried on a computer/laptop. You get all your photos in thumbnails and just select however many you want, then the layout, size, background and so on. And you can slide them around to change position and so on.

I just had a look at their website and there seems to be a 'how to' option which might help?

Thanks for the info!

I use an app on my phone I downloaded for free called “Layout”. It’s so easy to use....you just open the app, allow it access to your pics/images, you choose which ones you want to incorporate, and then it gives you several different layout options. Once you choose your layout you can easily adjust the size (width/length) of each photo in the collage which is a nice option, kind of like cropping.

I posted last year on here with a collage of photos featuring my husband and I, a pic of our breakfast, and a pic of the scenery all centered around the theme of our one year anniversary. If you look in my profile/posts, you can see what I mean.

I can't see it - you know which you mean - can you put a link here so people can find it easily?

I don’t know how to copy and paste a link to a former post. Tried a couple times with no luck.

If you click on my profile pic it takes you to my profile. Scroll down to a post called “A Year of Firsts....Happy, Yes Happy Anniversary” and click on it, the original post along with collage pic will appear.

I work on a computer so I can't tell you how to do it anywhere else but I do it by bringing up the thread and then blocking and copying the link in the strap line at the top of the page. Then you just paste it into where you want using edit which is an option in the More menu at the bottom of every post.

Just tried to like, came up unlike, 😖

so thank you, wanted to know how to add.

in reply toMarymon

No it says unlike showing the like has been registered....changes the like to unlike, so you can unlike it if you change your mind. Confusing eh!???

But that's just for the main post. If you like a reply within the post....the heart gets filled in colour...blue on my phone. Can't guarantee its the same on yours. 😂🤣😂

And as far as I can tell, on a sample of one (me), when you click on it and it has liked it the open heart turns into a solid blue one.
