Headache and GCA

The article is entitled

Giant cell arteritis or tension-type headache?: A differential diagnostic dilemma

and details the presentation of an elderly lady who appeared to have a tension headache - but it was in fact GCA.

It is probably a reference to bear in mind when your GP is insistant it isn't GCA ...

Maybe if they had read this and other articles, instead of a CT scan they may just have tried this first use of Ultrasound in diagnosis of GCA. There are many articles on this on the web. It all dates back to the TABUL study.
