Elton’s in town!!

Hello UK ... your Elton is in Perth, Western Australia and we are going to see him tonight! I have seen him a couple of times before but he’s claiming this is his Farewell concert so couldn’t resist. A quick question ... does it matter if my CRP is elevated (57) if I am experiencing only mild stiffness in the morning? I’m tapering again, and on 8.5mgs, feeling good but that pesky CRP keeps annoying my GP.

Fabulous! Have a really memorable time. Anything can raise CRP - the sniffles, toothache, you name it. Symptoms tend to rule.

Thanks, that is reassuring!

By the way, we have turned on some gorgeous weather for Elton ... max 30C with a cooling southerly breeze ... magic day!

My CRP seems to be high most of the time, my GP worries a bit when it is over 100, but it is currently 88 and he does not seem to care.

Thanks, so we go by symptoms, correct? I cannot get myself absolutely symptom free, but I do manage very well with a bit of stiffness which disappears by the afternoon.

Go by symptoms - yes for sure.

If you’re not free of them until afternoon, might be worth thinking about changing the time you take Pred so they kick in earlier in the day.

Either early hours if you wake for loo visit, so in system before daily dump of inflammation (approx 4am) - or even splitting approx 1/3rd evening, 2/3rd morning.

Depends how troublesome they are.

Enjoy concert!

Thank you DorsetLady, I hadn't thought of that, I will give that a try, though the stiffness is ok at this stage. On our way to early dinner and then Elton ... still love him!

It worked! Took pred early and reduced discomfort this morning. Thank you for this advice. Or perhaps it was late night dancing to Elton 💃😂

Bit of both perhaps- but you’ll have to manage without Elton from now on....so see how it goes!

But you ARE experiencing symptoms. Is it always elevated? Is it rising? It needs to be checked to establish if there is a rising trend - if there is then something is increasing somewhere. It may not be PMR though.

Enjoy!!

Thank you PMRPro. Monitoring it but always elevated. Pretty consistently around 60. When I flared at 4mgs several months ago, I was sick. This isn't like that.

Will give Elton love from the UK!

As long as you can tell the difference! But if your GP is worried - has he investigated? Chest problems and liver problems can both elevate CRP - but so can pregnancy (unlikely ;) ), obesity and lack of exercise ...

Had lots of tests. All seem ok. Doing EVERY test again in January. My GP is really great, woman by the way.
