I thought I'd post this link - it is actually just up the road from me, in Italy and a sort of mindboggling sport that most of us can't even think about, especially because of PMR. It just so happens I could get on the train up the valley and then get on a bus to get close to that rockface!
But I wanted to link it to Skinnyjohnny's proposed feat
Having recovered from PMR he is off to Nepal next week to climb Annapurna IV. HE won't be taking the bus!!!!
He is looking for sponsorship for PMRGCAuk, the charity that makes this forum available for all of us. Very little comes for nothing - if he can do this, surely we can put our hands in our pockets?
He’s past half way to his target, so that’s good - but come on people - it only takes a few minutes to donate - and you can do it from the security of your own home!
Re video, my tummy turns when I watch such things. It is amazing how they do it. It made me laugh though....no ropes but a helmet....and before someone says it's for the rocks from above....I do know but was funny for me. The Dawn Wall on Netflix will also stretch your mind!
Is Man on a wire across twin towers? I used to be okay with heights but cant watch a drone image swoop over cliffs. Imagine watching something being effected!

It has gone up in the past few days which is great. It would be fantastic if the target(pre gift aid) could be could be achieved as Sjohnny starts the adventure. I for one am inspired by his challenge. From a wheelchair to climbing mountains. Brilliant.

To other people who have these auto-immune illnesses I do not want you to despair and wonder why they cannot do the same.
SJ was a young fit fire officer in one of the top jobs. The fire service were brilliant as they have centres for employees who had suffered injuries etc they were brilliant. Bit like the Civil Service who have organisations that the staff can join and then if something happens, you are on the way to rehab.
So many of us are older when we encounter these illnesses. Every one of us a different in every way, so the path we walk is ours alone, with all the help we can get from others and the medicines which luckily are common to all, we just can and do re-act differently.
