So have appt. this week w rheumatologist. My CRP is back to 23 and I have the feeling PMR is lurking out there somewhere, can't put my finger on it. Should that 23 be much lower on medication? Or am i all mxed up? It seems it was much lower a couple of months ago, and I don't check often.

Yes it should be lower when you’re on the Pred, that’s what it should be doing. Unless you have anything else that is likely to raise your inflammation.

Your PMR is still there, the Pred is only addressing the inflammation caused by the underlying illness, it’s doing nothing for the illness itself.

Do you mean CRP? Or ESR? 23 for CRP is very high, not so high for ESR.

If it is rising then it is an indicator that the inflammation is also rising. And I would say that was an indicator that leflunomide plus pred wasn't allowing you to get any lower than where the ESR/CRP started to rise. If there is a single raised ESR or CRP, that isn't of concern, but if a trend sets in over time, that is a different matter.
