Feeling more like me!

Over the last two weeks I’ve noticed something has changed. It may be short lived but I am enjoying it. I’m down to 6.5mg slowly tapering to 6. The awful lethargic fatigue has left me, albeit perhaps temporary. I still get tired but I certainly have more energy and no pain, not even in the morning. Has this been experienced by others? Am I dreaming?

Hi Rosina. I had a bedding in period at 6mg when a month of fatigue turned around. Now it's only if I overdo it or get stressed that I get fatigued and pain. Fingers crossed for you.🤞

Good news, enjoy it whilst you can, but don’t go doing too much on the back of it!

It may last, it may not - hope it’s the former !

Yes, I love these days when the sun comes out from behind a cloud for a while. I never figure out the recipe though. Hopefully PMR is receding.

That's really good news dear...such a great feeling that things are improving for you.

Now you must take it easy, you are still in the early stages of remission. Over doing things all at once is not advised.

I'm really delighted for you, as others will be too. 🌹🌹🌹

Hopefully not dreaming - but don't get carried away!! It does happen eventually - with a bit of luck you are round a corner (not THE corner, A corner!) so fingers crossed.

I recall noticing a day when my hunkered protective posture suddenly gave way to an opening of my shoulders and the ability to sit up straight and throw my shoulders back. It felt foreign and wonderful at the same time.

I started in January with 20mg. I am now on 7 mg. I have had a stressful period with death of my son. Seems everything in my home needs work or replacement.

.....But I, too, noticed a day recently when I felt like ME........the next day I drove 8 hours and was exhausted and was in bed most of the next day. I guess I am not ME,...yet!

But maybe you'd have been fine with 4 hours of driving!

I think you are right. I think the secret is to pace ourselves.

That's what we keep telling people ;)

Thank you. I learned my lesson.

Similar to what I experienced. Even today at 1.5 mg I sometimes have moments when I seem quite suddenly to feel exhausted. Still have to watch the pacing and maybe now in my 70s it's for the rest of my life. ;)

When I feel well, I want to rush around and do everything. Then I crash.

That sounds hopeful!

I could have written your post Rosina! I too am slowly dropping to 6 mgs from six and a half and I too am beginning to feel more like me. It's obviously early days and we must take heed not to overdo it but it's like the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope the "me-ness" continues to magnify for us both....! I see you wrote this over 2 years ago . What's the update?

Oh you POOR thing! I am so sorry to hear this......I was hoping you were going to say PMR was all behind you but evidently not.

All I can say is that this wonderful Forum Family are all with you as ever.

How and when did the GCA develop?

Rosina1871 profile image
Rosina1871 in reply toLouisa1840

Started symptoms about a month ago. Jaw pain, high inflammation markers, sore scalp and pain around left ear area. Very disappointed but there are others much worse than me

OMG! So you thought you were well clear of PMR and then BINGO - GCA struck? I wonder if others have a similar experience?

Of course you are very disappointed (who wouldn't be?) but, as I said before - we're here for you. Brave Soldier!!!

Not what you're looking for?
