More GCA treatment

High dose pred but still right eye socket pain & worsened blurriness in right eye. Dr ordered new labs. Labs were normal range just last week. Also. DR said to go to local ophthalmologist today. Pain is only one eye socket & occasional zinger to back of head. Continue to have weight loss, unlike others with weight gain. Any ideas. I wrote msg earlier but can't find it. Maybe I deleted rather than posted?? Maybe I'm losing it.

Hi spanky, oh dear this needs sorting. Are you still on 60mg? Go see opthalmologist and if all not right I would expect in UK it would be straight to the hospital...hope it's the same there. Good luck and don't just leave it!!🌻

Yes, 60 mg. All other pain gone except the one eye & to back of head. I know positive healing thoughts are important but I have a sense that this maybe isn't going to turn out too good. I have so many kind of serious medical conditions. I am much more introspective and contemplative lately. Don't know if it's pred talking or me thinking.

The pred is a bit of a mind freak at the level you are at. You are getting used to another weird and wonderful illness. But as I have said before, some people need 80mg or more to clear up all the inflammation. Go to your appt and hopefully that will provide some clarity. Please let us know what happens and I wish you good luck!💜

It’s not easy when you’ve got stuff going on whilst on that dose. It doesn’t help you to feel objective, calm or clear of thought, while you plug away trying to get answers. Good luck with it all. 💐

If you're losing it - we all do it at some point!

Don't worry too much about the weight loss as yet - some people lose weight on pred! But I would worry a bit about the continuing pain and get your eyes checked first. But don;t let the doctor dismiss it - though it doesn't sound as if they are.
