Back briefly my new found friends. Don't want too much screen time on my baby blues right now. Increased prednisone from 40 to 60mg. Said they thought higher dose had initially been prescribed?? Glitches happen, I guess. I definitely need to be more knowledgeable about all this, but in the meantime, thank you so much to all who responded to my emergency.

GCA emergency
That’s good. I hope you get good relief from your symptoms. Keep in touch.
Oops! Only human I suppose. Thank goodness the error was corrected before serious harm was done.
R&R for you now. Come back and update when you’re up to it.
Glad you’re sorted. Come back when you feel up to it.
Whew! So glad that you are ok! We have to be soo vigilant.
Yes , absolutely right , protect those eyes just now , keep off any sort of screen time.
Keep hydrated , if your eyes are getting dry with the GCA and drugs get some eye drops from the GP to help ease the irritation.
Just do anything , especially rest , that helps you feel better while you and your body adjust to the medication.
Now is the time to use all your energy on getting balance back in the body , reducing the inflammation , repairing , relaxing and staying calm.
Just contact us if you need more advice , need a chat to lift your mood or when you are further forward so we can catch up and hear how you are doing.
Take care , bee x
Just in case this happens to you, because I found it so frightening when I was first started on 60 mg. My legs just turned to jelly, I struggled up and down stairs and went from going for a run after work to hardly being able to walk 25 yards in a matter of weeks. It will pass, I thought I was going to be like that forever, but at 3.5 mg am almost back to normal.
Hope you managed a reasonably good night. 🌻
Not feeling too good. Briefly checking in occasionally here to read such supportive caring people respond. Just can't tell you how much this site is appreciated. ❤
Yes. It has been a life saver for me. 🌻
Hi, but don't give up the things you love doing, just work out the best way to continue and use every bit of help you can find, each little thing that you find you can still enjoy makes you feel better, fun and laughter are good medicines. I had to carry on at work but many times I phoned from my car and asked someone to come and carry my bag and things like that, we just made fun of me going up the stairs on my bum (fortunately they were carpeted stairs in a tiny building with a few close colleagues.) I think I am just emerging from the tunnel after 3 years. I am beginning to feel like whatever 'normal' might be. But the bad days still catch me out.
In the past with other conditions where mobility and pain...and fatigue occur I have laid on cinema floors (under screen cleanest bit), shops, walls, steps...anywhere. You need to do things you enjoy and like you say embrace the laughter.
Absolutely. It has also made me more assertive
