Yesterday wasn’t the best day I have ever had. My appointment was for 12 o’clock but it was 3 o’clock before my name came up on the theatre list. The procedure was painless but it took a very long time. I had to lie on my poor old fractured back for over an hour. My hair has been shaved off one side and I look absolutely hideous. Procedure was successful. I had a. Crepe bandage wound round my head but mercifully it came off in the night. It’s a bit sore this morning. Have stitches and a dressing on the wound. Everyone concerned was extremely nice.

Temporal artery biopsy.
I bet you are relieved that is over and that the procedure went well. Not the nicest procedure though. It sounds that apart from the wait you were treated well. Sadly in hospitals nothing ever seem to run like clockwork. Take it easy and follow any post op instructions, things should be a lot better soon.
Take it easy now it’s all over so you can sorry to your back. Remember this is more like a minor op, not a normal little biopsy. That’s a proper wound that needs time. Inflammatory healing pain tends to reach a peak about 48 hours then should recede slowly.
The waiting is the worst thing - it's over for you now. I had a sore head that I couldn't lay on for a few weeks or more but the rest of the time was okay. While the dressing was on my shaven hairline was hidden but it soon grew back, had my haircut 'adjusted' for the time. When do you get your results? Mine were negative but had a positive Ultra Sound for GCA.
Thank you all. Am a bit perturbed to find that the dressing is stuck to the rest of my hair. I think it will have to be cut out along with even more hair. Think I will treat myself to a new hat!
