I would highly recommend Prof David Marshall at BMI Ross Hall Hospital Glasgow. Found him to be both charming and very thorough during my recent diagnosis of pmr.

Almost every private consultant in the UK also has NHS lists or oversight. If you are lucky with a private rheumy, they will add you to their NHS list. But the NHS also occasionally (and increasingly) uses services bought from private hospitals (mainly for the beds/theatre space)

I have had good care from Dr Murphy of NHS Lanarkshire - I think she works out of East Kilbride and Monklands, although I see her at a clinic in Stonehouse. I appreciate that she hasn't forced the pace on my steroid reduction plan - I am now down to 1 mg/day and have not had any yo-yoing because it has all been done at a sedate pace.

I see Dr Mcarey at Stobhill Hospital,he is great.I didnt get choice of Dr just referred to him.Good Luck.x
