Hi

After relapsing with Giant Cell I have been prescribed the above.Looking at the possible side effects am a bit concerned.Anyone have any experience of this treatment?

If you use the search box at the top right and type in Actemra (careful with the spelling) you will get quite a lot of threads about it, mainly from people in the USA, although there are a few from Europe.

I’m always interested in people’s stories who have GCA. When you relapsed what dose of prednisone were you on? How long have you had GCA? What were your symptoms when you relapsed? Are you going to take prednisone with Actemra?

I have been on Actemra for 10 months now. Only glitch was reddening of injection site which Rheumy was not concerned about. I am down to 5mg Prednisone from 40mg initially. Diagnosed GCA/PMR May 2017. It’s been ok for me but I know we’re all different

Hi Roxy47,

I have been on Actemra/Tocilizumab for close to two years and no problems ...yet. It did allow me to drop my Prednisone . I was having problems dropping and it helped a lot. Good luck
