I had an episode of double vision last evening. It lasted about 30 seconds or so. I have had a few episodes of my eyes going into spasm, like I am wearing someone else's spectacles. Should I be worried?

Double vision
Hi,
I think you need to get it checked. Pred can cause visual problems, but of course we also have the spectre of possible GCA symptoms.
Your high street optometrist should be able to check if there is anything untoward, but if your eyes get any worse please take yourself to A&E.
Better a wasted journey, than miss something important.
Hi Trish
Can you make an appointment to see your Optician today or been seen under the Pears System or similar in your area?
My husband was seen on the same day & diagnosed with a PVD but is totally different from your your symptoms.
This is the leaflet from our area ~

Otherwise maybe A&E? Do you have GCA?
Kind Regards

Hi Trish,
My hubby suddenly developed double vision some years ago. He has to have prisms in his glasses and sometimes the opticians find it difficult to get the prescription right. It wasn't until we were living in Spain a few years ago that a Spanish optician found evidence that he had had a TIA which had affected his sight, so you must get it checked out asap.
Thanks for the response. I have paroxysmal aitriel fibrillation and slightly high cholesterol and I am overweight so a bit of a prime candidate for TIA. Optician says eyes are fine, rheumatologist appointment on Thursday so will mention it along with everything else. I have been having tiny flashing lights in my eyes also, optician thinks vascular problem.
