Double vision update

Back from my lovely opticians. No problem found with my eyes thank goodness very relieved. Thinks it may be vascular. Have rheumatologist appointment on Thursday so will mention it along with my list of symptoms. Thanks as always for support and advice, invaluable.

If I remember correctly, in your original post you said you were having blurred vision?

Did you see and Optician or an Ophthalmologist?

GCA is vascular.

Optician who gave me a good eye check. Have had biopsy for gca which was clear of inflammation. I'm not convinced there is not a slight gca element to my symptoms. I have paroxysmal aitriel fibrillation also but not on blood thinner yet.

Which you should be - it is practically medical negligence not to put you on an anticoagulant medication.

But as jinasc says - what is GCA bar vascular??????

I will have to take anticoagulant medication at some point. At the moment I take antiarythmic medication as well as pred and calcium/vit d, also talk of statins for high cholesterol. I am trying to avoid statins by lifestyle change for cholesterol reducing. I understood as we develop more and more conditions we need more medication but I am reticent to take medication if I can avoid it, but I am thinking now it may be time for anticoagulant.

As far as doctors here are concerned, the absolutely essential medication is the anticoagulant. I don't take statins - and won't after my experience with them. But anticoags - absolutely no question.

Hi Trish

Glad you’ve seen your Optician & no problem found, plus having a Rheumatologist Appointment this week is also good timing. Don’t forget to tell him about your eyes.

Kind Regards
