Interesting. So, the brain has this early, ignorable, distress warning manifested by fatigue and pain to stop us over doing it totally. I wonder how this relates to muscles that are already compromised by PMR and not a healthy athlete? I guess it would be unethical to make subjects with PMR run a marathon to see what happens, any takers??

Bit busy or I’d have a go? I am making a cushion cover for my car to make it comfier to drive 30 yards to our shop. I am also devising stealth methods to get back in my house undetected with the loaf of bread.

My Fitbit records 25.412 miles this week - just about a marathon! Does that count......

I’d be hospitalised if I did 25 miles in one week! Don’t even think I make 5!!!

You would be surprised what one can do in spite of PMR...I was training for triathlon when I was diagnosed with PMR 3 years ago. Totally devastated. But after just one year, with careful training I was able to get back to the same level of fitness. I still have PMR, but I do lots of exercise.. Can't run at the moment ( knee issue) but I do at least 3hrs of biking and an hour of swimming per week.

Nope. I run to the bathroom once in awhile. Does that count??

Unless it’s 26 miles away, no.

Only if you made in time :)

I am sure that the wobble for a wee is officially considered a form of PMR/ GCA exercise activity 😋😁😂😂

Nope, but I will happily sit along the PMR Marathon runners route in a chair and offer the poor guinea pigs, oops ! I mean contestants a bottle of water and a jelly baby!😋😂😂😂😂

Thank you for the link, Interesting especially the last statement. Don’t think I will be attempting a marathon I move far enough, often enough to stay mobile. Think maybe the message is listen to your body, now where have I heard that before?

It's definitely important to listen to your body but sometimes with PMR/ GCA ( depending on what stage you are at in recovery) it's important to listen when it cries to sit down more than when it shouts to get up!

Some days those hips and shoulders won't do what they are told and no matter how hard you try , an exercise you did well a week ago can be impossible a week on , I have learnt that today , it will be to my cost tomorrow.

Interesting video though xx
