rash lower part of foot. but now up to ankle bone rht foot..…………..

A blotchy scaly red rash has been developing around both feet, in the case of the right it has turned angry up to and including the ankle bone. Although a similar sore is now between 1st and 2nd toes. I wash them regularly ,cream most days with legs-arms-head. They can itch at night. What can I learn from my learned friends-Thank you John.

Is this a possibility?

I’d guess at Athlete’s foot too. As well as the sore, itchy, crustiness between toes, you can actually be allergic to the fungus and get spotty rashes up your legs.

Any of the OTC meds should suffice, but if no quick relief, get checked for cellulitis just in case.

If is athlete’s foot as suggested by PMRpro it will respond to using a specific treatment for athletes foot, eg Mycota cream and/or powder.

If it is not that it might be

1. dermatitis caused or exacerbated by the cream you are using ( in this case go for a cream or lotion which is non fragranced and non coloured eg Simple

2. A reaction to fabric conditioner or biological clothes washing products. This can occur even if you have not had a problem with these products before, and even though it only affects your feet.

I hope this helps. My job is a food intolerance and allergy specialist, and I have collected a lot of data on this kind of thing.

I hope you are more comfortable soon.

Well! in all my 83 years, swimming pools etc ,it is so bad that I never thought of 'af'. we are or some of us on a multitude of medicines for other problems ,you are not believing the obvious. especially having not seen the extent before. but you and thanks PMRpro with her 'pictures' it all seems clearer. Onwards and upwards with the treatment -I assume it is the Pred. it is just wicked.John

Oh dear! This sounds suspiciously like my Psoriasis. Only on my feet, my Rheumatologist suspects Psoriatic Arthritis. I use low dose cortisone cream about 3x a week and E45 cream twice a day. It is a battle to keep it at bay. So far it has not spread, although my palms itch.
