Dear HU PMRGCAuk, I cannot thank you enough for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. You are a truly an amazing community!
To those of you who complained that my posts/comments to your posts were "upsetting," please accept my sincere apology. It was/is NEVER my intention to be unkind, cruel or to upset anyone! All you ever had to do was tell me that I had upset you... and we could have worked it out .
To those of you who found my blog "NSQAF" "distressing," I am sorry you felt that way. The blog was written as an observational piece, about how (I believe) as WE get older we resist anything new and different. It was not meant to be finger pointing and I had included myself throughout the piece.
However, I stand firm in my belief that I provide more than ample "warning" and information about my blogs, so that you can make an educated decision, before reading them. You cant have it both ways... you cant read the warning, click the link, leave the HU PMRGCA website, read the blog and then complain that you were "distressed" by it. That's not how life works.
I apologise for my part in this unfortunate fiasco and hope for a peaceful resolution. It is still my belief that this is an AMAZINGLY valuable forum, and the recent show of caring, compassion and camaraderie tells me you have something special here... don't risk losing that!

I must say, I have never been offended by any post on this forum. I’d be lost without the support and the inflammation I have gotten here and am most grateful for it.
Actually, when I think about it, if I ever was offended, so what, it’s not all about me!
I’m so grateful to everyone on here and those who keep the forum going! Xxx
Exactly. We are all grown ups. As Melissa can't post still this message is via me and as we don't have a problem with each other then it's time to unblock her and put this to bed!!
Great !! thanks Yellowbluebell for relaying this message from Melissa - I see Kate has been called back in after a very 'short retirement' from the site - and I'm sure will rectify this disappointing 'hiccup' very soon - and reinstate full membership for Melissa and then we can all just 'get on with it' !!
We all have very powerful censorship tool - if you don't like the post, stop reading it and move on... Don't understand why would I (or anyone) complain about any post unless it is directed personally to me.
She not back unfortunately but she can private chat and like! That's why the message came through me. I totally agree, if you don't like a subject then dont read it or get involved, move on to the next post. Act like a grown up. X
Why has "Question" been removed and also "Dear administrator" is no longer available.? Or is it just me? I have every admiration for Melissa and can't wait to see her back on the forum again. But I am still very upset at the way she has been treated.
It is obviously an intermittent fault on HU. I have no link to 5 different posts, neither from my emails nor from within the site. Later notifications have worked. The link here for your reply was very slow.
I've never been offended by Melissa's posts! All I need to do if I think they may upset me is to ignore them. Dear Melissa always gives us plenty of warning re the content!
I came late to this discussion but I was awake in the night and realising how much everyone on here meant to me. Dorset Lady's gentle wisdom and humour, PMRpro's encyclopaedic knowledge and kindness, MB's off the wall posts, Pepperdoggie's beautiful garden and so many more. But Melissa's posts had a particular flavour which really conveyed her personality and they, particularly her blog posts, were always preceded by caveats about content and lack of relevance to PMR/GCA so they could be skipped. I appreciate that moderators have a difficult task when threads are very long and could be seen as irrelevant to the subject. But we are all humans first, PMR/GCA is part of that humanity and, as it is known that stress is an exacerbating factor in this illness, anything that makes us laugh and feel part of a unique, warm and welcoming community with which we can identify, can be seen as therapeutic. I hope a way can be found to reinstate Melissa. Thank you for her message and please pass on my very best wishes . I, and I know I'm not alone , certainly miss her.
