I have read that steroids can slow wound healing, but I'm not sure that this would be the case at such a low dose.
I used Manuka Honey Cream, developed by Addenbrookes, its expensive but worth it and it only takes a little bit.
Ah, my home hospital. Where do you get it from?
My surgery gave me tube of manuka honey cream, I also have some medihoney dressings from the nurse. The use of honey for healing goes back thousands of years, to ancient Greece and Egypt.
Was not on prescription unless you had a varicose vein ulcer and the green lipped mussel cream did not work and the District Nurses recommend it. Mind I could be out of date as that was over 5 years ago and things do change...........sometimes for the better.
Apparently yes, as that’s why some Surgeons are concerned about Patients on Pred needing Surgery as healing can be slower.
Also because of the slower healing surgeons are worried about infection as well.
Shouldn't make much difference at that level - but everyone is different and I have never had trouble healing at any dose.
In my short experience yes... same thing finger tips! Took two weeks, where normally it would be a couple 2-3 days.
I work with stained glass, and always have several cuts on my hands. My treatment is an over-counter antibiotic ointment. I use lots of bandaids. If a cut takes more than a day or two to heal, I soak it 15 minutes, in a cup of hot salt water. Works well.
