How do you insert smiley faces etc into posts / responses? I think these are great and I would occasionally like to use them to indicate the tone some of my replies, but haven't sussed out how to include them.

Some people have them on their phones/ipads or whatever. Can't help there I'm afraid :-)

But you can type some in very easily:

:) is a colon followed by close bracket

:( is a colon followed by open bracket

;-) is a semicolon followed by close bracket

Hi

As PMRpro says if you have them on your phone can do it from thier.

If not Google Emoji Loads to choose from just copy and post .

I have a Samsung phone. If emailing or texting I can insert emoji by just pressing screen and selecting insert but it doesn't seem to work on replies. Thank you though.

What is your device Marilyn? My iPad has an icon at the bottom of the screen and I get a page of them. You could google it for your machine. 🧐😉

Just spotted this, belatedly. I also use a Samsung phone and just to left of the space bar is a smiley face. Tap on it and whole bundle of emojis appear.

I have a recent Samsung phone. Mine has a little face on the keyboard that opens up options, though a recent update reduced their number and variety. Can I help you in any way?

As PMRpro says you can put them in manually, I have to as don't have the full range as on my iPhone. if you do the colon close bracket etc, just remember there has to be no gap between those two but has to have a gap either side. Give it a go. :) :)

Oh Wow! Did the symbols PMRpro suggested and by magic when I pressed reply button to post them, they transformed into actual smileys! Wasn't expecting that. Feel like I amseven years old again. The awe and wonder at my age!!!! Thank you Telian for telling me to give it a go :) You have made my day!!!!

You can look up ways to type them in on google but they are complicated and it takes time. There was a utter fury on the patient.info forum recently when they took away our pop-up list of emoticons!!!!!
