Sure we have all had this one! It's gone! No Saver! No connection! Blah Blah! Cummon!

Aww! She looks like my Rosie, who was a complete hooligan, pulling on the lead , running off into the undergrowth, murdering a squirrel, turning up in a florists shop once, trailing lavender ribbon. We miss her though.

Do you mean gems like DL and PMRPro’s posts? My kids impress me by taking a photo of a screen they like.

The true Pepperdoggie in his latter days. Some adventures with that doggie! Probably a good match we were!

in reply toSheffieldJane

No Jane I mean our posts as we write them & if things go pear shaped still have them!

Luddite I must be!

I sometimes post in bed and my husband jumping in is enough to wipe out everything I’ve typed so far. I blamed the iPad. Do you mean that? Or is there something else I’ve failed to learn?

in reply toSheffieldJane

I use a lap top. It would be useful to be able to save the script while writing! It could then be got back again if it fails to post properly. The touch pads are so sensitive it's easy to hover into something else & it's gone! That's what I think happens! Not good for my computer tantrums!!!!

It would be useful. Sometimes I want to look something up for someone without losing what I have already written.

It's easy on a computer, you just open another window. Cab you do anything similar on a phone?

It’s a bit hit and miss on an iPad.

in reply toPMRpro

Can do that on computer, but no saver on forum is there? Don't know if's possible to write it on Word & cut & paste! Oh! Well!

Of course you can cut and paste from Word - you can cut and paste within HU too, I often do.

Told you I was a luddite! A One Finger Typer Too!

Should have done Commercial at school instead of Woodwork & Metalwork. Too late now the Brain Cells won't have it!!!

I did neither - except woodwork finally in 6th form. I did ask to do it for O-levels but "girls can't...". The teacher told me he regretted saying no once he saw my skills!

in reply toPMRpro

Don't remember any girls doing metalwork or woodwork in my time or whether they were refused the opportunity! Boys could do Domestic Science though!

I was encouraged to go down the engineering factory route with technical drawing as another subject! Most girls who stayed on after 15 did shorthand & typing etc. or the usual GCE subjects! God knows what the choices & streaming is now!

Oh yes, I had the joy of DS! I could cook - which was why I wanted to do woodwork. No boys at the Grammar doing DS but my brother did it at secondary and then trained first as a chef and then as a confectioner baker. Now drives buses and makes and ices cakes in his spare time.

I remember my first DS class. It took us 2 1/2 hours to make a cup of cocoa!! Of course we first had to know where the beans came from, how they were proccessed/shipped, etc etc...............
