I am on 25 mg now, pain free and finally able to do exercise in the gym. When I do some of the exercises I feel heavy ponding in my neck, close to the scull. I imagine the feeling just before a stroke... 😐
Someone who recognize this as a side effect of Pred? 😯

With any physical exertion (not exercise - just raising of my heartbeat walking upstairs for example) I find I get pounding in my chest and in my neck below the ear where you can visibly see the vein moving. I have just taken this as a steroid side effect as didn't have it before starting taking them.
Please get your GP to do a 24 hour Holter ECG - and try to make sure you have an episode during it! Just to be sure it isn't anything to worry about. Both pred and PMR can cause arrythmias - or make them worse if you already have them.
Like a sort of fizzing pulse with or without sweating. I recognise that from exertion. A bit alarming, I think it’s steroids, but mention it at the GPs. They won’t know of course but they’ll take your blood pressure and pulse.
Hi Pirnilla,l have a constant pulse like noise in my head,it was there before l had PMR. I became alarmed when the noise in my head kept missing beats and the same thing was happening when l checked the pulse in my wrist.Does this happen to you when you have one of these episodes? I would see your doctor ,the problem l have is that apart from the first time it happened,by the time l see a doctor or have an ecg,it has calmed down .l think they may be thinking l imagine it when it does happen and this certainly is not the case ! The problem is getting it to happen during an ecg, etc.l have come to the conclusion that inflammation was causing the problem and when l was given the first high dose of prednisolone for PMR,it did not happen again for quite a long time, but has done several times when on a lower dose.l have found that it was not the Pred.,that caused my problem,it could of course be different for you.l hope that you get some answers to your problem, please let me know how you get on.Best wishes,Patricia.
I haven't experienced this before, this is new. It is mostly when I do exercises that involves the shoulder, like lifting weights over my head. Pounding and strong pain just below the scull.
I just hope it goes away as I taper from now on. Scary.
