Advice please. Sickness & diarrhoea bug

Hello. I posted a few days ago worried about gca as had headaches etc. Think now that I was coming down with some sort virus. I'm feeling unwell with terrible nausea, sickness & diarrhoea, still headache & seem to hurt everywhere. It's hit me like a ton of bricks & just lay in bed. Haven't eaten for couple days, struggled to take the yoghurt so I could take pred. On 16mg. My question is does a bug or whatever it is effect the pred, what's the best thing to do? Thank you.

Hello, d&v bugs are just the pits, poor you. I would be concerned that you are not absorbing your Pred properly which may put you at risk of an adrenal crisis. It would be safest to speak to your GP or equivalent in case you need some extra help.

You need your GP pronto..................

however you could try this ancient barmaids cure for D & S.

measure of port and measure of brandy, mixed and swallowed (it tastes horrible)

repeat two hours later.

both D&S should stop.

Port does the bowel, brandy does the stomach.

Not to frighten you but you are immunosuppred and I wouldn’t recommend just putting up with things. I did and ended up in hospital. I would phone the G.P. someone will speak to you and advise. At the very least you need a stool specimen sent for culture. Try to record how little you are drinking and how often you are sick, it’s so easy to lose track. Do take care of yourself.
