Should have been a no brainer really! Easy peasy! Fix back the loft ladder after boiler replacement done yonks ago. Well! The brain engaged! Said " Not comfortable with balance here mate". Message got through to legs! Or was that Versa Visa! Left for another day! Good news the boiler is doing the job & there is only the Christmas stuff to bring down now! Or not!!

Wobbly On The Loft Ladder! Confidence & Safety!
Good crop there!
Forget the Christmas decs for a while - in same situation. Had to get grandson to put them up in attic when I sorted out spare bedroom for him, so he can retrieve nearer the time!
One of the wonders of grandsons DL.
especially when they are over 6ft tall!
Blimey! How do they see the stuff on the low shelves in the supermarket? All my family are shortarses! But getting taller!
With extreme difficulty. His dad (son-in-law) is 6’ 5”, brother just 6ft, he’s slightly taller than brother catching up with dad! My daughter dwarfed by them.
My son is also over 6ft - must be in the grub - I’m only 5’ 5” and hubby only 5’10”
But you’re right they do come in handy at times!
Sounds like a wise decision to me.
Well done, for listening to the voice of reason. Doesn’t get things done though, does it?
No Snazzy! Getting things done! Boom! Time to pass on the baton now!
Oh Pepper you really must be careful,it is so easy to lose our balance. The trouble is our brains still think we are years younger but our bodies are unable to respond accordingly.love the picture ,another fine plant from your garden.kindest regards and take care.
I’ll lend you my bull hook. 🙂
!!...... Gave up riding on Elephants years ago Jane! Think Bull hooks are banned now! But thanks anyway!
Amazon sold me what was called a bull hook for the rogue Ivy that worries my neighbours. Literally a long pole with a thick hook. I hope the vice squad won’t come for me.
Don't worry about the vice squad! It's the Advice squad that we have to look out for Jane! It's another language thingy!
I warned you I was coming to sit in that incredible garden of yours, now I see you have got the chair and table ready. Thanks. Mug hot black coffee, 2 brown sugars, please. Aaah! And in such pleasant surroundings.Ladder can wait.
Sorry karools it's too wet & blustery to sit out there today! Even my nemesis "Mr Squirrel" looks peed off this morning! Anyway what's with the brown sugar! Not good for your carb allowance is it! Yes the ladder can wait till I feel like doing it! Have a good day.
My peppers are picked and in the freezer! You are in Birmingham? Not so far away from Cumbria but your garden looks so summery. Still raining here, forecast to carry on till Wednesday, I'll never get my allotment straight for spring!!
Seem to remember Seathwaite was the wettest place in England! Don't know if it still is! Cumbria is beautiful. Did a lot of hill walking there years ago. A mad dash from work Friday night. Pitching the tent in the dark & back home on Sunday night. Never tried freezing peppers, I jar them in olive oil & they keep well. Finished the last of our toms this week,so back to the supermarket rubbish! Already got the Sungold seeds for next year,I like to start them indoors for an early crop.
Little to clear now other than the pots of Begonias & French Marigolds, they have been flowering for months. Not buying any new bulbs this year I'm determined to cut down on pots. Put your feet up till Wednesday!
I just pop the peppers in a plastic bag then into the freezer, they keep for years. Have you tried growing Black Cherry tomatoes? Really tasty, late to ripen but now still picking. Know what you mean about pots which multiply by themselves it seems. Have planted the new twice flowering type walflowers this year, impressed, in flower already.
No I haven't grown Black Cherry. There are many colours & shapes now. Believe original wild toms were orange or yellow! Have you ever tried growing them as a perennial? Seen them grown hydroponically that way! Not seen the wallflowers but have a perennial purple variety which does well. Ordinary ones don't like our slightly acid clay. Pouring down here all night & still going.
No I haven't, they get awfully leggy and the plants deteriate, seen them grown that way in the local open prison (garden club visit). My wallflowers are in pots. Storm Callum has gone leaving me with loads of lovely leaves to sweep up for my compost! Have a good day.
Think it's time to get help for those jobs now....don't you?
Definitely. Most of us struggle to hand over the reins T. till we have too! Busy independent generation we were. The D.I.Y.ers!
Pepperdoggie - a very wise decision! I’ll say nothing more than to refer you my own post of a year ago: ‘Stepladders and PMR’.......
Thanks Rokerman, Good advice. I remember reading it now! But of course it didn't apply to me did it!! Doh! Always did everything practical I could & the automatic pilot still kicks in! My balance & muscle strength are certainly not what they were. I may consider Hypnotherapy!!! ATB
