PMR and sweats

Hi

I have been taking prednisolone for nearly a year now and have come down to 4mg. But for about six months I have been getting really bad sweats where I am just drenched, they are now almost continuous, is this normal.

It may be the PMR or the pred - both can cause sweats. For me, developing sweats as I lower the dose is a fair sign I may be about to flare.

Ditto. If I start dripping when tapering I go back to previous dose, then try again at a later date. Seems to be my body's way of warning me the time is not right. Strange how it seems to drip like a tap from my head / hair down my neck, but not from the rest of my body! Weird!

Apparently there are a lot of nerve endings that supply that area of the skin - not sure why but the sweating matches the area served by the nerves...

Ditto What PMRPro said... Drenching sweats are precursors for me. Seeming to indicate flare on the way.

You have tapered very quickly, you might benefit from stopping taper for a while, at a comfortable dose, and see what happens.

I have been on Prednisone for almost

4 years, and down to 4mg daily

I have PMR, and am symptom free
