Also is intense pressure at the temples a common symptom of GCA even after being on 60 mg prednisone for a week? Does it take a long time for the temple pressure to go away?

Hello I see this is a similar question to your other post 'symptom length'. My response to both is that as you have only been on pred for a week at 60mg for GCA and had some relief but not enough - that you may not be on starting dose which is high enough. You shouldn't really be having such intense pressure in your temples if the dose is adequate - you may need 80mg or even more. I think you should talk (promptly) with your rheumy/doctor and ask for a higher dose to be sure you have the inflammation under control - which is very important at the outset with GCA. Our resident 'experts' will no doubt chime in when Europe is awake.
Best wishes
Rimmy
