Hi

We should be picking next week looks like its going to be a bumper crop this year as well,

cant beat home grown veg.

Never tried this variety before Rose. Very tasty & not at all stringy. Yes a bumper crop on the way pollination has been very good so far. Looks like a lot of watering this week ahead. That should burn a few calories off! Tomatoes doing well also. Rubbish they are from the supermarkets.

Hi

I purchased my usual Cherry Tomato seeds and thay look like thay are tall ones, don't know what gone wrong but thay will still taste delicious

Raspberries just coming in Strawberries over now

Cant wait till next week should have Blueberries fresh each morning for my porridge.

Don't overdo it with the watering I find watering cans heavy used to carry 2 a once only one at a time now .But I noticed my muscles are coming back

Home grown very tasty. Better than the hot housed or hydroponic toms. Leggy toms I plant deeper. Seems to work well! Yes those watering cans have got a lot heavier but it's good exercise all round. Enjoy your blueberries.

Fabulous can’t beat nice fresh veg from the garden. Friend once described supermarket tomatoes as like eating wet blotting paper. Good year for our blueberry bushes too ours are full of berries this year, must get the cage out soon or the birds will have the lot.

Yes don't leave it to late everything is so advanced this year. Which birds in particular go for the blueberries? Blackbirds!

Yes, blackbirds will eat until they struggle to fly. Will put cages over but will leave some bits sticking out, we are not going to be short of berries this year strawberries are excellent too this year think maybe the cold winter helps.

We are in Cornwall these past 2 weeks, home on Wednesday. Our neighbour has been watering for us so hope are beans are cropping too!

Always good to have a neighbour who will do that.

Lucky you, my runner beans are only just climbing their poles due to late planting because of PMR, we have run out of water on the allotments so things are suffering. Soft fruit all good though and using my terriers to dig my potatoes for me!

Lucky you with the terriers! It's when they dig out what you've just planted it drives you nuts! I did start the runners early in pots in a greenhouse but usually that's no advantage! Mine are now in big pots & they are greedy plants. Have you no water supply on your allotment or is it close to where you live & can run a hose? An estate near where we live have allotments backing on to their gardens so that's how they do it. Can't be easy to collect & store enough rainwater for the beans in a dry spell.
