5am and stood on cruise balcony. Sailing into Palma. Then flight home. I made it. Two weeks hols. Did the walking (reduced) but still managed a good deal before hip pain set in. Fatigued a lot second week and slept more but I want to say. Last year I cancelled all holidays because of the fear on not being able to manage it. Decided life to short and took the bull by the horns. Will probably sleep for the next week but boy have I enjoyed it and given PMR a little kick up the backside.

Brilliant News Chrissie 🚢
Take a bit of extra Pred before Airport Security, l always do, l work on the assumption I’ll use it all up as they rifle through my hand luggage!
At least on a Cruise you can Chill & not feel guilty, Terry goes to the Gym & Lecture’s while l emerge around 10.30/11.00am & meet him in the Coffee Shop!
Forget the washing when you get home, leave it in the case! Just relax & regroup!

Didn't think about extra Pred. Good idea MrsNails. I'm on 6.5mg. maybe raise it to 8 mg. We are only 10min drive from airport to home so feet up this afternoon
LOL! (Security) I get patted down EVERY SINGLE TIME!
I was beginning to get paranoid - I got the pat down and hand swab every time! I said "What, again? Do I look dodgy!" last time and the woman said it was random - and laughed when I said that random it may be but I'm always picked...
My experience too. I had a bag that was always picked for inspection and I grumbled that it didn’t seem to be random. I asked them if my bag looked suspicious... It was perfect for hand luggage, but in the end I got rid of it as I was fed up with being stopped. Once I got a new bag it was ages before it was selected for inspection again.
Ooh lovely. Never thought I’d be seen dead on a cruise but it was quite the best holiday whilst ill (and not ill) I’ve ever had. Well done for doing it properly and not racing round or doing the Macarena on the top deck...or did you?.
The worry is literally being seen dead on a cruise. Aargh! Stop it!
Just make sure you are dressed nicely with clean knickers on at all times then! Well, having superb medical facilities below decks did give me a sense of security I must say. That said, on my tour of the medical centre as a fellow health professional, they did say their ‘storage facility’ was frequently used because cruises attract those who perhaps would not otherwise be travelling and residents living out their days on the open sea. Judging by some people I saw, some on oxygen, I was a well person. I did get a boost sticking two fingers up at GCA as if to say, “Hah! See, I CAN enjoy myself with abandon (relatively speaking), look at me go! Sparkly shoes and everything, now where’s that cocoa and an early night?...”
Not quite the same - but we feel exceptionally healthy and chipper compared with many of the holidaymakers in Malta during the winter! Having bought a 10 year subscription to the service I had wondered a little bit if we'd be able to use it in our mid-70s. Then I saw the "parking/charging area" for mobile scooters in the foyer! It seems to be as easy to hire one there as to hire a car...
I was chatting to a ship’s dr about their mortuary and he said several people end up there during each cruise. They only have about six spaces, so sometimes they have to offload people along the way (no longer allowed to do burials at sea). At least they’ve had a nice time before ending up there. It could be worse.
Well done
We cant put our life's on hold with this illness we have to find a way to manage it and make the most of what we can do .
Safe journey home
Good for you! Wooooo Hooooo!
That is fabulous to hear Christie. I have slept so much since a fairly sedate London weekend, last week, that I have been fearing the crossing to America in July. The clothes are ready - perhaps I could just send them to the dinners?
Just returned from California (coast to coast). I was good and didn’t drink on the plane going out & only had one Mimosa before I came home as the bar was adjacent to my gate. Saw 2 deer on an early morning walk up in Big Sur! Helped one daughter celebrate her 40th. But I took all the bottles of Prednisone I could find along...just in case.
We cruised for the first time last year - best holiday ever- so relaxing and yes it puts it into pespective seeing some of the other poor soles on oxygen etc..so pleased you enjoyed it..
