Has anyone tried using Deep Heat as pain relief? I'm unsure whether or not it contains NSAID. Thanks

Deep Heat?
Hi,
Does have traces I think, it does say don’t use if allergic to ibruprofen or aspirin, but you could use it sparingly. I checked when I was on Pred and wanted to use ibruprofen gel and was told it okay. Or try the heat patches or spray.
I have used capsaicin cream ...on prescription but they said not on their books now (yeah right). It is connected to substance p theories of pain and some research has been done on CNS and pain. In fact I am going to ask again and run a trail in me 😂
I’ve used a few ‘Rub In’ type gels/creams while I’ve had PMR on other issues, neck, knees etc & also Instant Refreshing Gel, contains camphor, menthol & peppermint etc that’s very warming & tingling so it kind of distracts you for a bit!
I’ve also used heat pad’s the type you can warm in a microwave & an electric plug in one! Very Soothing 😌
A Cautionary Tale 😂
My GP prescribed me Phorpain Gel for my knees as they’ve been damaged by Chemo (oh the joys!) l duly rubbed it in, got dressed, wearing expensive tights l went to lunch & as l crossed my legs I could see all the ‘skin’ on my knees peeling!
🤬Chemo l thought & it looked like my skin was about to come away in a whole layer but it turned out to be the Gel! 😂
I have tried these creams and gels. I have to say that they never did a blessed thing. My husband says the same with his back pains. I wish they did work.
It has 12% or so of methyl salicilate - much the same as aspirin. Not a large amount and I'd think it probably wouldn't be a problem used occasionally and sparingly.
Ibuprofen gel did nothing for me.
Thank you for all your responses. I'll use a bit tonight and see how it goes and let you know
After all that I couldn't find the Deep Heat! I was sure I knew exactly where it was but no a sign of it anywhere. What I did find was some Tiger Balm which helped a bit. Hey ho, am sure it'll turn up eventually
