Me again

I also have had a headache everyday since this 7.5 to 7mg taper started. I was just at the rheumatologist last Tuesday and don’t think it’s GCA. It’s a dull headache more from the back of my neck. I’m having a bad day.

I also answered the other post. Headaches at the back of the head can be significant - so don't ignore it.

Do you do a lot of computer work? I have a constant dull headache, made worse by lots of time on the screen, at the back of my head. My Optician has suggested another pair of glasses with a prescription just for that. I wear vari - focal glasses or contact lenses. I tend to read without anything. Might be worth a visit to have an eye check.

Thank you. I just saw me eye dr and got new glasses. Guess I should wear them more. I’ll try it.

PS. I have noticed old arthritic pains returning on the lower doses too ( the weather is not helping) Pred must have been having a palliative effect on my Cervical Spondylosis. As PMRPro says GCA can present with a headache in this area so we both have to be alert to jaw pain while chewing, tongue pain and any visual disturbance, then it becomes urgent and we need to go to A&E. I will be mentioning my headaches next week when I see my Rheumatologist.

Thank you. I will be alert to any changes.

I'm no expert, but... I was seeing my Osteopath for 2 1/2 weeks with a brutal dull headache, pain in temples and severe neck ache before finally seeing my GP, who sent to A& E. It was GCA.

I had trouble looking up. The spot where the base of my skull, met the top of my neck, was extremely painful!.

Good luck, I truly hope it is NOT GCA...

Hi Lanakay. Headaches were common for me at your level of prednisone. In fact, I called them pred headaches, and 2 paracetamol/tylenol helped them go away.

Don’t panic, you are going to be fine.

Do take the time to read the archives , located on right side of your screen under “topics”. Most everything has been discussed on this forum, and the information is staggeringly relevant to many of us.

Kind regards, Jerri
