Hello everyone. So after being discharged on this Sunday. With a severe headache and possible lymes. Which it turned out to be not the case. I spoke to my doctor today. She was shocked when I told her my whole experience at the hospital. She told me that what I really had. She said I have severe neck and spine degenerated disc and bulguding disc in the neck which is giving me these headaches. She said I need to see spine specialist and the neurologist that did my spinal tap. So with all said and done. I’m still having really bad headache and pain in my head and shoulders. Well that’s what I have for you guys. Please still pray that they find something to elivate my pain.

My doctor diagnosed me
Hi Huma
A diagnosis is a big step forwards. Bulging and herniated discs are very painful. I had 2 in my spine resolved surgically years ago. I also have degeneration in neck and lower spine. I get bad dizziness, headache and nausea when my neck decides to shift and feels like it's not sitting straight. Despite having this for years sometimes it's takes me a couple of days to realise it. I just feel rubbish and have pins and needles in my arms. I take painkillers daily but also have an antiemetic when required. Sometimes it's just a travel sickness pill if I can't see Dr when it happens. If you have no allergies etc with travel sick meds then try one and see if it helps.
If it turns out that you require surgery then stuck to the neurosurgeon side rather than orthopaedic surgeon.
At the end of the day you have finally reached a diagnosis. Hopefully you will start to move forward now. My very best wishes 😀🌻
Aww 😊 😊😊
Definitely go for the Neurologist, the ortho consultant I worked for always said they were the ones that knew what they were doing where spines are concerned and he wouldn't trust anyone else if he needed help !
Yes. That's what I was told pre-surgery and fortunately got a good one despite lasting damage-which he said wouldn't be fixed. I can deal with honesty like that rather than false promises. He stopped the unbearable pain.
Dear Hali, you must be so glad they have finally reached a diagnosis. It can only be a matter of time now till they decide what to do. I'm sure it won't be long until things get better for you. Sending lots of good wishes and a big hug. x
Hi Hali
It’s been something of a nightmare journey for you, l have been following your posts but not commenting.
Have they tried different Meds for you to try & help with the pain or considered a Pain Management Specialist for you?
Your Neurologist or Ortho Guy may suggest one as a Pain Management Specialist, who’s usually an Anaesthetist takes a two/three pronged view of the Pain as Chronic Pain even when diagnosed is extremely difficult to live with. I saw one & he diagnosed my PMR!
I do hope you feel some improvement with the pain soon as even though you know what it is, it has to be dealt with.
Sending you my best wishes for a speedy solution to your pain.

Hi Hali. Well, your diagnosis takes you a step further to get the problem sorted. having been through major spinal surgery and having a good part of my spine fused, I feel for you and the pain you are going through. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Hali, am glad to hear you had a dr who LISTENED to YOU. i DO HOPE YOU GET THE VERY BEST OF CARE FROM NOW ON. Having curvature of the spine since age 11, I do know what spinal pain is all about. I actually, asked my dr, yesterday, for morphine, as co-codamol doesn't always work. All the very best for you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I would take some heart from the fact that you have a definitive diagnosis and are now known to the appropriate specialists. I will add my prayers for pain relief for you!
Me too Hali, prayers for you ,to help relieve your pain xx
