Amaurosis fugax can be caused by a mini-stroke, a proper stroke and also by GCA.

If you have HAD an episode of amaurosis fugax you should contact a doctor as an emergency - if you are in the UK (battersea?), dial 999 immediately. Or get someone to take you to A&E - don't drive yourself.
