I read them too, then googled some other info and decided to buy turmeric tablets from holland and Barrett. Might be wishful thinking but have been feeling less pain ever since Saturday!

I seen something about turmeric and acid tablets where they don't work well together ? Not to be taken together I need to go and look for this again. As I started to use the turmeric only recently : (

There was a programme on radio, they had done research on turmeric and found that using fresh or powdered turmeric was preferable to using supplements which they did not recommend. They found that turmeric did have beneficial properties.

I'm using it, both tablets and in a tea...can't hurt is what I figure...researched it and I think it helps...

Pukka makes a tea. It’s bright yellow but worth a shot.

I took it and then went on vacation and forgot to pack. Saw no difference in pain. As a financial advisor, I don’t put $ down the toilet, so I am just finishing my supply. I think the effect is in my head and my wish to have control over PMR symptoms. We all learn this doesn’t happen. We can only control our attitude!

Some people swear by it, others say it made no difference to them. However they used it, in cooking or as capsules.

The turmeric supplements are quite high dose and can have unpleasant side effects. They are contraindicated together with certain medications so do check with your pharmacist if you take anything else. On the other hand, using turmeric in cooking seems to also work for some people, is much cheaper and doesn't interfere as much with other medications.

One lady (Celtic) swears her addition of oily fish 3x a week, turmeric and ginger in cooking made a difference as she could feel when she had not had them!

Thank you

I was told by a nutritionist... " Re the turmeric, you want to find a supplement in the UK that contains a minimum of 400mg of Curcuminoid, which is the active ingredient in turmeric. It's the curcuminoids that are known for the anti-inflammatory properties."

Didn’t even touch my PMR. The only relief is Prednisone and or Actemra or combineed. I also think plant based diet really helps and keeps cholesterol and sugar stable. The only supplements I take are D, C, Calcium Citrate, B12, and pro-biotic. I’m looking into K.

the K apparently... K2 M7... helps put the calcium on the bones and now into your arteries... A year or so ago I had a heart scan for calcium deposits.. which was clear..but it said to me that Calcium can go other places than your bones. So I added the K

Is a good anti inflammatory however Dr said it is also a blood thinner. So if you do take a blood thinner it would be contraindicated.

Thank you for replying, I am on Asprin daily and Dr wants me to stay on that so tumeric would be no good then. Thanks again!
