Nitrofurantoin linked with constipation?

Hi I've been on Nitrofurantoin for a few days and am having quite bad constipation, not sire if this is to do with the medication? Has anyone else had anything similar?

It certainly isn't a side effect that is listed - far more likely is diarrhoea.

That is interesting as one of Nitrofurantoin’s side effects is supposed to be diarrhoea.

Have you reduced your fluid intake?
