Zero Prednisolone

Hi everyone, thought it was about time I write a post about club zero. I used the really slow reduction method and I have been steroid free since the beginning of October this year.

I still feel a bit stiff sometimes but nothing like I've experienced in the past. I have also lost all of the excess weight and walk regularly every day for at least half an hour.

I am slightly anaemic just now but Dr is not worried, I will have another blood test to keep an eye on it next month.

Not celebrating at the moment as its early days and I believe it can take quite a few months for the body to recover.

This forum is a fantastic support and I learn so much from it.

Best wishes to everyone and especially to those at the start of this long journey.

Try to stay positive, you are not alone and thank you to everyone who takes the time to post.

Greetings PJPS :-)

Thanks for your Post - always good to hear from someone who has seen the light at the end of the PMR / GCA Tunnel!

As you suggest, nothing is guaranteed as regards the future prospects - and the 'Curse' of PMR and GCA can always return. But it's inspiring to hear stories from those of Us Lot who are for now, at least, returning to Business as Usual. Me too soon, hopefully..

Thanks also for your endorsement of this forum. I agree, it's a terrific and very caring community for PMR / GCA 'Survivors' - as I well-know.

'You are Not Alone'- well said! :-)

Best wishes and please keep us posted...

MB :-)

Hi PJPS,

Welcome to the club (one that we do all want to be in). I’m about a year ahead of you, and yes it does take some time for everything to get back to normal.

The feeling is great when you can finally get rid of those last few tablets because a) they’re out of date and b) you don’t need them anymore!

Good health😀

PJPS that is a really useful post and allows us to peek at what it would be like at zero. There must be quite a few of us getting quite low and wondering what to expect. Still a while for me but lovely to look forward to the day....

I was on Pred for almost three years, I had one flare in that time which set me back a bit. I am just so grateful for the support and available information on this forum. I am also lucky to have a good GP. Best wishes to you.

Ditto everything said by all fellow travellers along this bumpy GCA/PM road. Well done - I'm imagining you in my mind's eye, striding out on your daily 30 min walks - so happy for you! It almost seems an anti-climax to wish you a Happy 2018, you've got it already!

Very best wishes and many thanks for sharing your special news with us all.
