Hi I am taking Omeprazole is it safe to take ferrous sulphate at the same time

I did find a site under drug interactions the other week where you put all the drugs you are taking in and they tell you if there are any interactions. It was American and free but it understood my drug names. You could google drug interactions and find it.

WebMD has the feature where you can add your medications and it will indicate interactions. It is called My Medicine and I think you have to create a profile (free) in order to use this feature. It is really handy!

Personally I think Omeprazole is over prescribed and for too long. I get on fine taking Pred with yoghurt.

I think though that this will merely show one to one interactions - which is a start. But once you get to polypharmacy you are in a whole new ballgame...

The omeprazole may reduce the absorption of the iron. This due to the reduced stomach acid. Chat to your pharmacist.
