My doc wants me to use these. Just preventative fir prednisone causing acid problems. Those who do, are you doing these 3 times a day? After 6 months on prednisone and now tapering I'm starting in them.

I am assuming that they are similar to Omeprazole. I have only ever needed 1 before taking my whole dose of Prednisone in the morning. I don't really need that now I'm down to 7 mgs.

Why are taking pred three times a day?

Food 3 times a day. Prednisone only in am.

Tagamet is cimetidine - an over-the-counter medication similar to ranitidine/Zantac. Its effect only last a few hours so you have to take it before each meal to reduce heartburn due to the meal.
