Hi Lynnray. I too get watery eyes. Spoke to my chemist and he said it was one of the side effects of Prednisilone. I use Opticrom my Dr prescribes. Use it in the morning and sometimes before bed. Does the trick.

You can buy it over the counter. Cheaper than prescription if you have to pay.

Yes Lynnray, I have watering eyes and sometimes a swollen eyelid too. I have dry eye drops. My diagnosis is PMR only - this symptom pre dates Prednisalone.

Yes Lynnray, mine are called 'dry eyes' lol! They're dry, so they water a lot to compensate. I buy sodium hyaluronate eye drops from Home Bargains (other shops are available) for less than £1. Similar drops are available on prescription - my neighbour gets some called HYLO-Tear.

It is a symptom of dry eyes - it may be part of PMR or it may be separate and due to something else. Pred is the least likely cause! Why do they immediately blame pred for EVERYTHING...

You can get "artificial tears" from opticians or pharmacies.
