my blood test results

Following on from my first post I am now able to access my blood test results on line. they were as follows:-

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate: 25.000 mm/hr (raised)

Plasma C reactive protein: 16.000 mg/L (raised)

Rheumatoid Factor: 20.000 iu/ml ( its say normal)

so what does all this mean ? is this why my GP suspects PMR and has prescribed 15mg Prednisolone ?

I am seeing him again Monday morning but my mind is blank any good questions i need to be asking at this stage ?

. Yesterday i felt very sore, today i seemed to have loosened up round my shoulders but wrists are very painful :(

I appreciate your thoughts

thank you

Yes - the ESR and CRP are just indicators for the presence of inflammation somewhere in the body. Your levels aren't mega high but are higher than they should be. Inflammation plus typical symptoms suggests PMR in the absence of the suspicion of something else.

The RF doesn't mean much - it can be raised in perfectly healthy people and normal in patients with RA but if it had been high he might have wondered about something else.
