Mycophenolate

Just quick question...any body out there and on mycophenolate? Just wondered what the reasoning was for your treatment with that drug. Just pmr or ra or anything else. Also side effects. First two weeks on500mg x2 I had bad lnausea. Week 3 it was increased to 750mgx2 a day and I felt a bit better and nausea dropped. Other than that no diff. Any idea when it kick in etc. All research online is based on transplant use. Thanks

Hi Poopadoop, the Arthritis Research UK website tells you about it. Apparently it can be used for vasculitis. It shows questions and answers you might find useful.

It isn't used a lot as a steroid sparer for PMR - mainly because there is no good work showing it helps. If you want to find out more about the effects of the stuff itself try the vasculitis or lupus forms where there are quite a few people on it I think.

Thanks. I will check it out further. The leaflet and specific website only seem to address transplant usage.
