What a difference .5mg makes !

Previous post yesterday described awful pain in shoulders and feeling really under the weather. I took an extra .5mg this morning going back up to 5 mg and the change was really noticeable.

I think this must be my limit - thanks

Very pleased to hear this worked for you. Its amazing when you think how large our bodies are in comparison to the size of half a mg of Pred! And mine is larger than it used to be before taking steroids! I am ever hopeful of reducing sometime.

You are at a tricky dosage now so take it slowly and good luck.

Hi Pamela,

So pleased that just a little has made such a difference. I know many docs don't believe us when we say 0.5mg is a lot in PMR/GCA terms, but it does!

Don't get carried away though with your new improved state! As Patricia says you are at a tricky level, and I always thought reducing at low doses was more difficult than the higher drops. So tiny, tiny steps! Your GCA is still there lurking!

Micro dosing is clearly the way forward, now go and sit in the garden with something long and cool to drink - no weeding- none!

Some years ago I wrote a post on another forum called "What a difference 1/2mg makes" - and that was 1/2mg over 2 days at the time!

SJ has the right idea - no gardening, just look at it and learn to love weeds as flowers in what you might have felt is the wrong place... ;-)
