Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but now you have one at least you can get treated correctly and successfully.

Sure you will find another support group - just browse through communities, if you tap on My Communites button you will find an alphabetical list.

Good luck.

Mark, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Another nasty disease. I have GCA and PMR...as well as a few other issues. Sjogrens and Fibro. Then there are always the problems that arrive after the meds start.

My husband's brother has fought Multiple Myeloma for about 9+ years. He has great medical care in the Cincinnatti area. ( We live in the states) . Seems each time his numbers start going in a direction the doctors don't like...they put him on something new. Recently that happened....was doing poorly for a short time...weeks. Put him on something new and is now back to working out daily and getting ready to play golf. ;-)

We, also, have a neighbor who was diagnosed two or three years ago. Her care is from Arkansas. She is also receiving a type of chemo our brother in law is now using. I don't know the details but it goes in for a very direct hit....less damage to normal cells. She is in remission. She's a beautiful, 78 year old woman who is still selling real estate.

It isn't easy but can be handled. Need to find aggressive doctors and push for the latest treatments.

Will be praying for you and your doctors,

CJ

Dear Mark

That must of been so difficult to hear and I am sure you are stiil absorbing the diagnosis.

be kind to yourself, give yourself time to gather your resolve .I am sure each day will have a new emotion.

I find that some forums are very negative, and therefore can be very scary

places. Finding this site and "Patient" was such an unexpected gift,

Its spirit ,though honest, is one of strength and support.

I hope you find one with that same spirit. And I wish you well

on this journey to wellness .

So sorry to hear your news, Mark, but at least having a definitive diagnosis means that you can get started on treatment and I wish you all the success in the world with that.

With regard to your query about a Myloma Support Group, there is one in the UK on the following link which might help - good luck:
