Taking turmeric for high BP is a new one on me - so I did look it up. It is an antiinflammatory so may help with PMR although it doesn't for everyone. But the evidence for turmeric having a direct effect on BP is from a study on renal patients and the effect was short term.

There are plenty of effective and safe drugs for the reliable management of raised BP - what is the matter with them?

What safe drugs can I take for HB when it goes as high as 250/177 Margaret

With BP at that level would want to be on any of the recommended anti hypertensive drugs out there (most likely more than one!). See GP very soon. Why are you taking Valium?

THAT is something that belongs in the hands of your doctor - and at that level, NOT a GP. Then, it is a case of what works to bring it down to a safe level - and of course, what is causing the high BP, that has a great deal to do with it.

With a BP like that - it could well be the cause of your tinnitus. But you need to see a good doctor and NOW, not after Christmas.
