On December 17th I am going in as a day patient to have surgery under a GA to have a sinus cleared of a chronic infection. I am in the middle of reducing from 2.5 to 2mg by extra slow method. Should I pause now and continue the reduction after the Christmas break?

The short answer? Yes!
And do make sure you have told the surgical team you are on long term pred and now at a low dose - and make sure they have registered the fact. They may want to give you a bit extra on the day or keep a closer eye on you because of the stress.
That's nice the week before Christmas!
~Sorry to hear this Annodomini but can assure you that having had this done after almost 3 months of antibiotics to try & budge infection (pre PMR), I did feel much better for having the procedure albeit getting over the GA.
As PMRpro & Dorset Lady reiterate, stay put for a time on your meds and let the body heal from the main assault presenting now.
Special thoughts are sent your way
Thanks Megams. I've been waiting seven months due to a mistake on the hospital's booking system so it will be a relief to get it over with. A permanent snuffle isn't very attractive! I'm glad the procedure worked so well for you.
Have a great Christmas.
